The most radical choice is where Build lives: inside the Roblox mobile app on iPhone and iPad, not hidden behind a desktop IDE. That matters more than the AI buzzwords. For the first time, the platform’s game creation tools sit in the same place players already spend their time, instead of demanding they install Roblox Studio and learn a traditional workflow. Build is explicitly aimed at no-code game design. It “requires no coding, no 3D modeling experience, and no knowledge of how game engines actually function.” A user can type, “Let’s make a cozy adventure game set in a dense forest with environmental obstacles,” and receive a playable prototype with mechanics, environment, characters, visuals, and sound. Build is not a toy that dead-ends on mobile. A basic version will be free, with paid options planned for power users. That pricing decision will decide whether this is real democratization or a teaser for a paywalled advantage. Meanwhile, Roblox is already planning the next layer of AI: scene-generation models, playtesting agents that hunt for bugs, and analytics tools that answer questions in plain language and recommend experiments to improve engagement, retention, and monetization.
