Continuous tracking turns personal health information into a rich behavioral map: your commute, social patterns, sleep quality, even when you might be pregnant or recovering from illness. With large data sets, companies can infer mood, productivity, and lifestyle risk factors that may interest advertisers, data brokers, or insurers. Yet the same study noted a striking mismatch between attitudes and behavior: most participants said they were willing to share data, but very few actually did so. Willingness to share tracked health data with clinicians slipped from 81.3% in 2020 to 73.4% in 2024, while real‑world sharing stayed low.
