AI agents in CRM: from scattered tools to shared customer context
AI agents in CRM and marketing automation are autonomous software assistants that act directly on shared, real-time customer data to plan, coordinate, and execute campaigns and service workflows across multiple tools without constant manual handoffs. The most important shift is that AI agents are moving inside CRM and marketing automation platforms, not sitting on the side as chatbots. Klaviyo now runs two AI agents from the same real-time customer profile to connect marketing, service and revenue work inside one CRM platform. Composer, its AI marketing agent, has moved into public beta while Customer Agent expands as a full service platform. The bet is clear: AI agents CRM capabilities that share customer context will outperform scattered point tools that force humans to copy, paste and reconcile data between systems.
Klaviyo: customer context automation as the new CRM battleground
Klaviyo’s move is an explicit rejection of siloed AI assistants that each sit on their own incomplete view of the customer. Its Composer and Customer Agent share intelligence across marketing and customer service so that every interaction updates one underlying customer record. When Customer Agent resolves a service interaction, it writes preferences, product interests and intent signals back into that profile; Composer then uses those signals to design sharper campaigns and content. In the other direction, campaign engagement informs how Customer Agent personalizes future support. This is customer context automation in action: the CRM itself becomes the memory that every AI agent draws from and contributes to. That matters at scale, where Klaviyo says its agent taps 14 years of customer patterns from nearly 200,000 brands plus each brand’s own performance data.
Manago AI: agentic AI workflow to shrink the gap from insight to execution
Where Klaviyo focuses on shared memory, Manago AI attacks the slow, fragmented workflows that stretch campaigns across tools and teams. Rebranded from SALESmanago, the platform adds agentic AI and a conversational interface so marketers can use natural language prompts to do work that would usually span multiple steps and systems. Instead of manually building segments, journeys and assets, marketers can ask the system to assemble audiences, campaigns and flows via prompts, then have AI generate briefs, emails, subject lines and images with brand alignment in mind. More important than the content generation is automation of next actions from behavior analysis, which aims to reduce the gap between insight and execution. This is marketing automation AI that behaves like a colleague, not a template library. Manago AI reports more than 2,000 brands and over €30 million in ARR, signalling that this is not a side experiment.

Kontent.ai: zero-code connectors show where AI agents are really headed
If CRM-centered agents are the brain, Kontent.ai’s Aiko shows how AI extends its hands into the rest of the stack. On July 7 the company introduced AI Connectors that link its Aiko agent to enterprise systems including Asana, Atlassian, Notion and Peec AI. The zero-code connectors let Aiko pull tasks and priorities from these tools, retrieve operational context, execute actions and coordinate workflows without leaving the CMS. In practice, that means Aiko can update statuses, notify reviewers and advance tasks while teams stay inside one interface. More than 60 organizations already use its Agentic CMS capabilities. According to Ian Norton, vice president of marketing, “AI Connectors are an important step… enabling Aiko to understand context, coordinate work across systems and help teams scale content operations without scaling complexity”. This is agentic AI workflow in the wild, not on a slide.

The strategic bet: AI agents CRM as the new operating system for go-to-market teams
Taken together, Klaviyo, Manago AI and Kontent.ai show where marketing automation AI is heading: away from dashboards and toward agents that understand customer context and act on it across platforms. Klaviyo compresses the loop between service and marketing inside one real-time profile, while Manago AI compresses the loop between analysis and campaigns through agentic workflows. Kontent.ai extends that logic into content operations, tying Aiko into project tools through zero-code links so non-technical teams can benefit without custom integrations. The timing is not accidental; vendors see that most teams are drowning in AI features, not short of them, and that the real bottleneck is context-switching and manual handoffs. Composer’s beta is live and Customer Agent will gain features through 2026, while Aiko’s connectors are already in production. The winners will be platforms that turn AI agents from shiny add-ons into the shared operating system for customer work.
