What One UI 9’s Unified Call Log Does
Samsung’s new unified call log in One UI 9 is a system-wide call history that combines traditional phone calls and supported internet-based calls from apps like WhatsApp and Google Meet into a single, searchable list inside the Samsung Phone app, so users no longer need to jump between separate apps to review who they spoke with, when, and through which calling service. Built on a Google capability added with Android 17 and now exposed through One UI 9, the feature merges audio and video calls from supported third-party services alongside standard cellular calls. At launch in the beta, this consolidated call history works with Google Meet and WhatsApp, while services like Telegram do not yet appear in the log. By default, the integration is switched on, turning the stock dialer into a central hub for your entire calling activity across multiple platforms.

How the Samsung Phone App Now Organizes All Your Calls
In One UI 9, the Samsung Phone app becomes the control center for your consolidated call history. Regular carrier calls, WhatsApp voice or video calls, and Google Meet sessions appear together in the Recents tab, each tagged with the app used so you can tell at a glance whether a call was over the network or via data. Tapping an entry opens detailed information, including call direction, duration, and which third-party app handled it. This unified call log brings internet calls closer to parity with standard calls, so missed WhatsApp or Meet calls are as visible as missed carrier calls. For anyone who has ever scrolled through WhatsApp, then jumped to the Phone app, then checked Meet to reconstruct a busy day of calls, One UI 9’s approach removes that app-switching and keeps your calling timeline in one consistent place.

Why a Consolidated Call History Matters for Everyday Use
The unified call log is a small One UI 9 feature on paper, but it can change daily communication habits. Many people divide conversations across carrier calls, WhatsApp, and Google Meet, which fragments their call history. With the Samsung Phone app now aggregating everything, it becomes far easier to track when you last spoke to someone, regardless of the app used. According to SamMobile, this third-party call log integration is enabled by default in the One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series. Digital Trends notes that Samsung’s Now Brief feature also understands WhatsApp and Meet calls, so it no longer nudges you to call people you already contacted through those apps. The result is a cleaner workflow: you open one dialer, see all recent calls, and decide how to reach contacts without hunting through multiple interfaces.

Control and Compatibility: WhatsApp, Google Meet, and What’s Next
One UI 9’s unified call log is not an all-or-nothing change. If you prefer to keep apps separate, Samsung lets you turn off integration per service. You can go to Phone app > Settings > Other call settings > Other calling apps and toggle individual providers so their calls stop appearing in the Samsung Phone app’s history. In the beta, WhatsApp and Google Meet are supported, while Telegram does not yet feed its logs into the system. Since the feature relies on Android 17’s new call log capability, more calling apps could plug in over time as developers adopt the API. Google has said that a similar unified log is coming to devices using its own Phone app on Android 16, but Samsung’s implementation in One UI 9 arrives early for its users and is tightly woven into its dialer and reminder tools.
