Choose the photo you want to fix; it can be a local image and doesn’t have to be backed up to the cloud. Tap Edit at the bottom, then go to the Tools tab and select Magic Eraser. Google Photos will highlight its best guess; if it’s off, tap Refine selection to add to or subtract from the mask. iPhone users can now use Magic Eraser free through the Google Photos app, without needing a Pixel or a Google One subscription. Install Google Photos from the App Store and sign in with your Google account. Open the app, then pick the photo you want to clean up—from your camera roll or within Google Photos. Tap Edit at the bottom of the screen, choose the Tools section, and then tap Magic Eraser. As on Android, you can remove objects from photos by tapping them, circling them, or brushing over them. Google Photos will detect the subject and show a preview selection. Use Refine selection to adjust the area if the outline isn’t quite right, then tap Erase to let AI fill in the background.
