AI-Native Email And Revenue Automation Comes Into Focus

AI email automation refers to software that uses machine learning and autonomous agents to design, send, and optimize email communications and revenue workflows with minimal manual configuration by marketers or sales teams, turning text instructions and business context into targeted, measurable outreach at scale. A new wave of AI-native email and revenue automation platforms is drawing attention and capital as investors bet on tools that move beyond assistive drafting. Instead of adding AI on top of old interfaces, these products treat AI agents as the primary operators of campaigns and GTM execution tools. Together, Airspeed, Nitrosend, and Upstream have raised USD 23.2 million (approx. RM108.2 million), a notable sum in a crowded email marketing AI landscape. Their shared thesis is clear: the next competitive edge comes from systems that do the work, not just systems that report on it.

Airspeed Builds An AI Execution Layer For Revenue Teams

Airspeed positions itself as an “execution layer” that turns commercial data and customer conversations into actions across calls, emails, tickets, and CRM. The company raised €17.2 million (USD 20 million, approx. RM93.2 million) in a Series A round to scale its agent-native platform for revenue teams. Its three-layer architecture forms what the founders call a “commercial brain,” centralizing context so AI agents can update systems, flag risks, and generate follow-ups automatically while humans stay in control. According to Airspeed CEO Adam Liska, “Revenue teams have systems of record and systems of intelligence. What they don’t have is a system of action.” With 200 customers in 20 countries and thousands of custom agents created, the platform shows how revenue automation platforms are shifting from dashboards to continuous AI agents that act on live deals instead of static reports.

Nitrosend Targets Time-To-Campaign For SMB Email Marketers

Nitrosend takes a different slice of AI email automation by focusing on small and mid-market teams that struggle with complex lifecycle tools. The startup raised USD 700,000 (approx. RM3.3 million) in seed funding to build an AI-native email marketing platform that turns text prompts into campaigns, automated workflows, and customer segments. Instead of traditional template builders and intricate journey diagrams, marketers describe goals in plain language and let the system generate the structure. Early customers include Elita Genetics and Fast Lane, with around 190 users reported since April 2024. In a market crowded with incumbents like Mailchimp and Klaviyo, Nitrosend competes on “time-to-campaign” rather than novel AI alone. The company argues that SMB buyers care most about how quickly they can launch reliable automations without sacrificing brand voice, deliverability, or measurement quality.

Upstream Reimagines The Inbox For AI Agents

Upstream is rebuilding the email client itself as a native surface for AI agents email tools. The Y Combinator–backed startup raised USD 3 million (approx. RM14 million) and moved into general availability with thousands of users already on the platform. Instead of bolting an assistant onto Gmail-style clients, Upstream designs the inbox so humans and AI agents can read, write, and act on messages equally. The system draws on meeting notes, calendars, and knowledge bases to give agents full context, allowing them to sort noise, draft replies in a user’s voice, schedule meetings, and send personalized follow-ups. Y Combinator notes that “in the next two years, every knowledge worker will share their inbox with an agent.” By remaining open via the Model Context Protocol, Upstream lets users drive workflows with models like Claude or bring their own agents into the inbox.

Agent-Native GTM Execution Tools Signal A New Email Era

Taken together, Airspeed, Nitrosend, and Upstream show how revenue automation platforms are evolving from AI-powered helpers into agent-native operating layers. Airspeed automates GTM execution across the full revenue workflow, Nitrosend accelerates prompt-driven campaigns for SMB marketers, and Upstream turns the inbox into shared space for humans and AI agents. This convergence points to a future where email marketing AI is less about copying text and more about orchestrating end-to-end workflows: ingesting context, deciding next actions, and executing reliably. The funding these companies secured signals rising investor confidence that even in a mature, crowded email market, there is room for tools that compress manual labor in revenue teams. For GTM leaders, the question is no longer whether to adopt AI, but how to structure teams and processes around systems designed for agents from day one.
